Amber Rudd has resigned as home secretary after "inadvertently misleading" MPs over targets for removing illegal immigrants. Ms Rudd told MPs that the Home Office did not have targets for removing illegal immigrants, but shortly after she made this statement the Guardian published a letter in which she set out her aim to deport 10% more illegal immigrants over the "next few years" to Theresa May.
