Making a difference where it counts

As an organisation we are proud to extend our support to the wider community through the following organisations:

The Armed Forces Covenant is a nationwide organisation that pledges to support servicemen and women who have protected our nation and who do so with honour, courage and commitment.

This pledge to serving personnel, service leavers, veterans and their families is fulfilled by a range of organisations who are committed to making a difference, including; central governments, charities, single services, volunteers and communities.

Working Transitions have pledged to:

- Promote the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation
- Support the employment of veterans and service leavers
- Offer flexibility in leave for service spouses and partner before, during and after deployment
- Support reservist employees, allowing leave for training and deployment

Working transitions is starting the christmas countdown early - but for good reason.

For most of us christmas is a time to get the gift cards out, the turkey in the oven and the santa suits on. However, for some it is an anxious time where they will struggle to put a turkey on the table and presents under the christmas tree.

This year working transitions is organising a "reverse advent calendar". Our team have committed to donate one item a week, either for the local food bank or the animal re homing centre.

We are already starting to build up quite a haul! We hope this will make christmas easier for local families

Plogging - a mix of jogging and litter picking - is great for the environment, the community and the health and wellbeing of our team!

Alongside other local organisations, we regularly 'plog' in and around Northampton.

The videos used across our website have been created in conjunction with Screen Northants a social enterprise which uses professional film production to help young people, focusing on those considered disadvantaged, to build transferable life and work skills, as well as showcase Northamptonshire and its talent. Through their Community and Academy strands they work with children as young as 8 years old, with educational institutions, Councils and community organisations to tackle feelings of disenfranchisement, poor social mobility and disengagement, and break down barriers to working in the Creative Industries locally.

Inspiring the Future is a successful programme that sees tens of thousands of people from all sectors and professions going into state schools and colleges to talk about their jobs, careers, and routes to their education.

As part of our CSR, we encourage all our staff to register on the programme in order to share our knowledge and experience with school children.
