A major manufacturer underwent a significant market change leading to an ongoing downsizing and restructuring programme across UK production sites.

Working Transitions focused on the ability to give the transition a “human touch” and enable a better understanding of the support on offer to encourage full take-up.
The programme was designed in two parts:
- A range of on-site workshops that covered all key job search skills, and one-to-one coaching sessions to provide personal support. These sessions were held flexibly to accommodate shift patterns, including early morning, evening and weekend sessions to ensure full attendance.
- A permanent on-site resource centre to provide a base for IT and Literacy training, as well as, a specific online job searching and application support.

- Feedback from employees was overwhelmingly positive. The majority claimed that they felt fully supported to move onto new opportunities.
- Trade Union representatives, Line Managers and HR teams all reported positively and felt engaged and supported
